European Climate Diplomacy Week Debate on Climate Change at the State House

​In the context of the European Climate Diplomacy Week (19 June - 2 July 2017), the President of the Republic of Mauritius organised a high-level debate on Climate Change. Around 100 participants attended the event to listen to the views of the various panellists on the climate challenge. The debate was opened by Mr. Payendee, Commissioner of Environment, Forestry, Tourism, Marine Parks and Fisheries of Rodrigues with a video on coral bleaching around Rodrigues Island due to rising sea water temperature. Other panellists included Mr Didier Robert, Senator and President of Conseil Régional de la Réunion, Mr Azim Currimjee, President of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI)  and Managing Director, Food & Beverage Cluster, QBL & MIL and Mr Fred Sisson, Chief Executive Officer of Synnove Energy.
