The Global Commission on the Future of Work was launched in Geneva on the 21st August 2017. It consists of a body of 20 experts who came together to tackle the fundamental question of how a rapidly transforming world of work should be organized so that it responds to the values of social justice. The event was co-chaired by Her Excellency, The President of the Republic of Mauritius, Dr. Ameenah Gurib-Fakim and the Prime Minister of The Kingdom of Sweden, Stefan Löfven.
“With the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the world of work is in a state of flux, changing as never before, driven by inexorable forces that are impacting manufacturing and trade, global supply chains and the digitalisation of the global economy to name just a few,” said President of the Republic of Mauritius Ameenah Gurib-Fakim in her opening speech.
