Shaping a Better Tomorrow for All: Towards a People-Centric Economic Transformation
President Dharambeer Gokhool welcomed Hon’ Dhaneshwar Damry, Junior Minister of Finance, and Mr Gilbert Gnany, Chief Economic Advisor, to the State House this afternoon.
Discussions focused on the current socio-economic situation of our country and the key challenges that must be addressed in line with the Government Programme 2025 – 2029.
It is imperative that efforts are geared towards developing new economic pillars while consolidating existing ones, with particular emphasis on improving the quality of life of our citizens and tackling persistent social issues.
President Gokhool, Junior Minister Damry and Chief Economic Advisor Mr Gnany also explored ways to make national transformation more people-centric by encouraging citizen participation and aligning reforms with the short-, medium-, and long-term expectations of the population.
Importantly, the need to establish a more effective and timely system to address public concerns and representations un a timely manner, thereby reinforcing trust in institutions and processes, was also highlighted during the meeting.
President Dharambeer Gokhool reaffirmed his commitment towards a stronger and more inclusive future for all by placing the people at the heart of every developmental initiative.
