His Excellency President Dharambeer Gokhool had the honour of receiving Mr. Gheeandut Dhunnookchand, President of the Brihad Purohit Sangh, for a courtesy visit at the State House, accompanied by a distinguished delegation from India.
The visiting delegates are currently touring countries where the Ramayana continues to be a vibrant part of cultural, spiritual, and literary heritage. Their mission is to document and publish scholarly works and reports on the Ramayana’s enduring influence across civilizations, with Mauritius as an essential chapter in this global narrative.
Discussions highlighted Mauritius’ deep-rooted connection to the Ramayana, its role in preserving sacred traditions, and the significance of promoting shared spiritual values that transcend borders.
