A great pleasure to have shared my reflections with LLB students from Rushmore Business School Mauritius at the State House today during their educational visit.
We spoke about Presidential roles and responsibilities, especially as the guardian of our Constitution — a responsibility I hold with deep respect.
I also shared a few personal lessons from my academic and political journey; my transition from a lecturer to the Head of State, and activities that go on at the State House.
It was particularly refreshing to see the curiosity and interest of these young minds about governance, the duty of leaders to uphold human rights, law, and order; and the merits, dangers, and evolution of learning in the era of artificial intelligence.
Our youths have a pivotal and catalytic role to play in shaping a just and responsible society for all.
I will continue to engage with our young citizens in order to listen and to empower them to take charge of their future
