An honour to join hearts and voices in celebrating our shared history and living heritage at the International Bhojpuri Mahotsav 2025 this evening.
The revival of the iconic musical ballet “Pani Nai Ba” after 43 years—a protest song first performed in 1982 and which inspired generations —reminds us of the strength, sacrifice and spirit of our ancestors, and continues to showcase our resilience, heritage and beauty.
I thank cultural pioneers like Dr. Sarita Boodhoo, Dr. Prittiviraj Joyram and all past and present artists; the Ministry of Arts and Culture, the Indian High Commission, and the entire organising committee for their continued dedication.
We must continue to embrace our ancestral languages and cultures, while harnessing the power of technology and unity to preserve and promote them for our future generations- As One People, As One Nation.
