The State House welcomed over 3,000 visitors, including non-Mauritians, this weekend to mark the International Day of Monuments and Sites, also known as World Heritage Day.
His Excellency thank Hon’ Mr Mahen Goondea, Minister of Arts and Culture, as well as the National Heritage Fund, for their initiative to open 19 sites of national heritage value – including the Château de Réduit – across the island this weekend and for their efforts to ensure the smooth running of the Open Days.
His Excellency also thank all the visitors who have taken a great interest in the history of the State House and its historical items that were displayed during the exhibition.
Similar visits will be organized in the future in line with our vision and tradition of welcoming the public, in a spirit of unity.
