It was with immense pride and pleasure that I hosted a reception for our newly elected mayors and deputy mayors at the State House yesterday.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div><\/div>
I thank the Hon\u2019 Ranjiv Woochit, Minister of Local Government, and Mr Aslam Hossenally, the Lord Mayor, for gracing the ceremony with their presence and sharing their valuable perspectives on the challenges and their responsibilities in modernising municipal administration.<\/div><\/div>
I urge our newly elected members to administer and lead with transparency and accountability; deliver with efficiency, and work in collaboration to preserve public trust.<\/div>

I also encourage them to consider innovative tools such as community radio to engage citizens, and to prioritize sustainable waste management solutions that serve both our people and our planet.<\/div>
