An honour to stand before the statue of Anjalay Coopen and pay my tribute to this young woman, whose courage and sacrifice continue to echo across generations.<\/div><\/div>
She lost her life along with three other labourers, on 27th September 1943, at Belle Vue Harel.<\/div><\/div>
She laid her life for liberty and human dignity.<\/div><\/div>
A powerful reminder of the role that ordinary individuals, especially women, have played, and continue to play, in our shared mission of nation-building.<\/div><\/div>
May her memory remain a lasting symbol of strength, resilience, and justice for all Mauritians.May the younger generation remember her as a woman of courage and conviction for a noble cause.<\/div><\/div>
