At the National Conference on Mental Health 2025, I reiterated that the true measure of our nation\u2019s progress lies in the state of mind and well-being of our people.<\/div><\/div>
A laudable initiative by the Abhyas School of Yoga, the IGCIC\u2013ICCR and the Indian High Commission, in the context of World Mental Health Day.<\/div><\/div>
The theme, \u201cAccess to Services – Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies,\u201d speaks powerfully to the times we live in.<\/div><\/div>
The statistics are alarming, and behind every number is a real person, a real struggle.<\/div><\/div>
Mental health challenges affect over 100,000 Mauritians, and many continue to suffer in silence.<\/div><\/div>
I thank all organisers and experts for their valuable perspectives, particularly on the mental health and safety of our frontline workers – doctors, nurses, police officers, prison officers, journalists, who serve our nation with courage and dedication.<\/div><\/div>
The rich deliberations of this conference must now be consolidated into formal proceedings to guide sustained, practical outcomes and policy action.<\/div><\/div>
