

































His Excellency Mr Dharambeer Gokhool, G.C.S.K., President of the Republic of Mauritius, attended today the commemorative ceremony marking the 60th Anniversary of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) and the 50th Anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s Landmark visit to Mauritius, at Hare Krishna Land, Pont Fer, Phoenix.
Upon arrival, His Excellency proceeded for Darshan, before joining the commemorative ceremony and addressing the gathering.
The event was also graced by the presence of the Honourable Ajay Gunness and the Honourable Dhaneshwar Damry, alongside spiritual leaders, devotees and distinguished guests.
A Special Day Cover was launched on the occasion to commemorate these two significant milestones and honour the enduring spiritual and cultural legacy of Srila Prabhupada in Mauritius.
His Excellency also visited the Temple of Unity-ISKCON Mauritius, currently under construction, and emphasised the importance of preserving spiritual values and strengthening unity and harmony within our diverse society.
Invoking the timeless principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” – “The world is one family”, the President highlighted that, despite our different cultures, traditions and beliefs, we remain bound together by our shared humanity and our common responsibility towards one another.
