An honour to join Her Excellency Dr Huang Shifang, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mauritius, and distinguished guests at the reception hosted last evening to mark the 77th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China. 
Mauritius and China share longstanding and enduring bonds of friendship and cooperation, further strengthened by the elevation of our bilateral relations to a strategic partnership in 2024.
As Mauritius and China prepare to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations next year, I convey my best wishes to the Government and people of China on this important occasion.
Mauritius remains committed to further strengthening the bonds of friendship and cooperation between our two countries, and to deepening our strategic partnership for the mutual benefit of our people.
