The President of the Republic of Mauritius, His Excellency Mr Dharambeer Gokhool G.C.S.K., signed the condolence book placed at the Diocèse of Port-Louis, to pay tribute to the late His Holiness Pope Francis, on 22 April 2025.
In his statement to the press, President Gokhool mourned the demise of His Holiness the Pope, affirming that “We should all keep late Pope Francis in our prayers, remember all his good deeds for mankind and remain inspired by him.”
The President also affirmed that His Holiness Pope Francis represents a universal light that will keep on shining in the world and guide us on the path of humanity.
