Launch of the LEARN-AI School Innovation Challenge

650 participants, 94 entries from 72 secondary schools in Mauritius!
An honour to officially launch the LEARN-AI School Innovation Challenge this morning in the presence of Ministers Dr. Mahend Gungapersad and Dr. Avinash Ramtohul, alongside distinguished guests and participants from both the public and private sectors.
This initiative for Lower Six students – driven by Dayforce, DoraCrea and Mauritius Telecom, in collaboration with the Office of the President, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, and other flagship AI partners- is a significant milestone in preparing our youth for a meaningful and safe digital future.
This strong participation of rectors, educators and students despite heavy academic workload of the third term, clearly reflects the creativity, resilience and determination of our young people.
Their projects will help us reimagine agriculture, education, public services and sustainability for the Mauritius of tomorrow.
I thank all participants, organisers, and my team at the State House for uniting around this effort to build a future where we stand ready for the opportunities and challenges of digital transformation.
As President, I will continue to champion and sustain such initiatives so that they grow into a lasting movement that strengthens our education system and inspires innovation.
