Launch of the book “Eliminating Drug Addiction Through Meditation” by Swami Paramananda ji and the Atma Gyan Meditation Society

Mental health and self-awareness are crucial for building a safer, healthier society.
This is why, at the launch of the book “Eliminating Drug Addiction Through Meditation” by Swami Paramananda ji and the Atma Gyan Meditation Society, I highlighted the transformative power of meditation in addressing addiction – not just to substances, but also to digital, emotional, and behavioural dependencies.
Did you know that nearly half of our prison population is aged between 18 and 30, and that more than 65% face challenges of chemical dependency or addiction?
They need help just as much as those struggling with drug addiction.
Meditation offers a practical, cost-free way to strengthen self-control, empathy, and emotional resilience, that must be applied across families, schools, workplaces, hospitals, and even prisons.
I thank Swami Paramananda ji and the Atma Gyan Meditation Society for this inspiring contribution to our society.
We must work together – as one people, one nation, and one humanity- to promote mindfulness, compassion, and well-being for all.
