It is with immense pleasure that I launched the “AI For All / AI Pou Nou Tou” Booklet this afternoon.
A laudable initiative by the Ministry of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation, this publication brings Artificial Intelligence into the hands of every Mauritian through DIVA – the Digital Interactive Virtual Assistant – to help citizens discover how AI can educate, assist, and empower.
As the late Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam once confided to me:
“Technology has no value if it does not improve the lives of the common people.”
We must remember that AI is not about machines taking over, but people using technology to serve humanity with empathy, fairness, and purpose.
As Mauritius moves forward with the Digital Transformation Blueprint 2025–2029, DIVA will indeed have a lot of work to do to position Mauritius as a hub for digital innovation and
cyber security.
I wish her well as she begins this mission to make AI accessible to all while ensuring cyber safety and security.
