President Dharambeer Gokhool stepped into two remarkable spaces that speak to the soul of Angola: the Museum of the Armed Forces and the National Science Centre, both located in Luanda.
The Museum of the Armed Forces, set within the iconic Fortaleza de São Miguel, showcases a striking portrayal of Angola’s passage through conflict and renewal.
Historic aircraft, armoured vehicles, and former colonial statues together illustrate how Angolans have reshaped and reinterpreted their history.
President Gokhool also visited the National Science Centre, a vibrant celebration of Angola’s biodiversity, boasting an extraordinary collection of mammals, birds, insects, marine life, and rare shells once used as currency along the West African coast.
A reminder that natural heritage is also cultural memory.
Angola is more than its thriving capital and its vast landscapes.
It is its culture, its history, and above all, its people.
Each historical and cultural site stands as a tribute to Angola’s courage, creativity, and enduring spirit, and Mauritius looks forward to deepening the bonds of friendship with this vibrant nation.
