The JKA Mauritius “Manual for Instructors and Students: Preserving the Tradition and Spirit of Budo Karate”, is a significant contribution to safeguarding karate’s technical rigour and philosophical foundations.
An immense pleasure to have officially launched this manual yesterday.
A resource that will strengthen the quality of instruction across our schools and ensure that future generations inherit the true essence of traditional karate.
I commend the Japan Karate Association Mauritius, under the leadership of Dr. Didier Samfat, as well as His Excellency Mr. Masahiro Kan and the Embassy of Japan for their continued friendship and support.
I also acknowledge the enduring legacy of Master Gichin Funakoshi and Master Masatoshi Nakayama, who shaped the global development of modern karate.
Established in 2016, the JKA Mauritius now has over 20 centres, 35 instructors, and over 300 dedicated members.
Its programmes for children, adults, and seniors promote physical strength; self-control, character development, discipline, mental well-being, and lifelong learning.
I further congratulate all Mauritian winners of the JKA Africa Cup, who represented our nation with distinction and pride.
The spirit of karate must continue to foster resilience and unity- As One People, As One Nation
