Mauritius shares deep historical, cultural, and spiritual ties with Andhra Pradesh, particularly through Sanātana Dharma, Telugu heritage, and the long-standing pilgrimage of Mauritian devotees to Tirumala-Tirupati.
The meeting was an opportunity to further strengthen and institutionalize these ties through cultural, spiritual, and people-centric cooperation in various sectors of mutual strategic importance namely quantum computing, setting up of data centres, e-health system, photo-voltaic energy, pharmaceuticals and cultural tourism.
A large and growing number of Mauritian devotees regularly visit Tirumala – Tirupati, reflecting strong people-to-people and spiritual linkages.
In view of increased pilgrimage, travel, cultural exchanges, and related administrative needs, due consideration needs to be given for the establishment of a Consulate of the Republic of Mauritius in Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh.
Expected Outcomes:

● Strengthened cultural, educational, and spiritual cooperation;
● Enhanced bilateral engagement between Andhra Pradesh and Mauritius in strategic sectors;
● Mauritius can serve as a spiritual and cultural gateway to Africa, with Sanātana Dharma deeply rooted in its society.
