President Dharambeer Gokhool held a fruitful and cordial exchange of ideas with Hon’ Ameer Meea Sayed Muhammad Aadil, Minister of Industry, SMEs, and Cooperatives, at the State House today.
During the meeting, they took stock of the current challenges and opportunities facing the manufacturing sector, including the evolution of manufacturing, SMEs, and cooperatives within a global ecosystem marked by intensified competition, tariff fluctuations, and the need for innovation.
Views were also exchanged on the outcomes of Les Assises de l’Industrie 2025, which examined these sectors and highlighted strategic priorities for sustainable industrial growth.
Particular emphasis was placed on the proposed Industry Bill, a legislative framework designed to respond to exigencies in the post-COVID-19 paradigm, modernise production, improve productivity, and channel investment towards high-potential sectors.
