What a proud moment to witness our quadricolour flying high at Champ de Mars today as we marked the 58th Anniversary of our Independence and the 34th Anniversary of the Republic!
A pleasure to welcome the President of the Republic of Seychelles, Patrick Herminie, and the First Lady, Mrs Véronique Herminie, who joined us as Chief Guests for this special occasion.
A beautiful ceremony which brought together moments of pride and unity:
From the traditional 21-Gun Salute, to the fly-pasts and the march-past by members of the Mauritius Police Force, Mauritius Revenue Authority, Fisheries Protection Service, and contingents of the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces and the Indian Navy.
Joining them were the majors and majorettes of Queen Elizabeth College and representatives of Uniformed Organisations, followed by a cultural programme, a popular show and a drone show by the Mauritius Film Development Corporation.
Sincere appreciation to all those whose dedication, discipline and talent made this celebration truly memorable.
A Happy 58th Independence and 34th Republic Day to all!
