






In keeping with his commitment to dialogue and to listening to the concerns of citizens and stakeholders, President Dharambeer Gokhool today welcomed representatives of the Platform Komun Syndikal at the State House for a constructive discussion.
The President took note of the concerns raised regarding pension reforms and the Finance Bill.
Both sides stressed that reforms, while necessary, should be pursued through proper consultation, transparency, accountability and fiscal responsibility.
President Gokhool recalled his constitutional role and responsibilities as Head of State and commended the trade union movement, which has historically defended public interest while respecting the law and democratic institutions.
He also underlined the importance of maintaining a constructive dialogue on important matters pertaining to national interest.
President Gokhool reaffirmed his commitment to being an interface between the people and public institutions, and took note of the views and proposals put forward by the Platform Komun Syndikal.
