An immense pleasure to welcome a delegation of talented women from over 20 countries, members of the International Women Artists Federation, led by Mrs. Angel Angoh, to the State House for a ground visit and a heartfelt exchange on art, culture, and humanity.
Their stay in Mauritius is part of the Art Exhibition and International Conference, using art to foster interconnectedness and transform personal and collective experiences into shared understanding, empathy, and inspiration.
I also had a fruitful and cordial meeting with members of the Saint Pierre Kyokushin Karate Club, led by Mr. Nazirkhan Hossen, President of the Club and Country Representative of International Federation of Kyokushin Mauritius, affiliated with the global IFK organisation headquartered in the UK.
They were accompanied by Mr. Shihan Eddy, official representative of IFK Switzerland. Kyokushin instills discipline, resilience, service, and international excellence, building character and strengthening our nation’s social fabric.
Two meaningful exchanges which underscore the power of talent, dedication, and collaboration in building a stronger, more united Mauritius and a better world.
It is essential that empowerment – through art, sport, and shared values -remains at the heart of nation-building, especially at a time when we must work together through our shared humanity to overcome complex societal and global challenges
