Jnana-Setu (Knowledge Bridge) 2026 International Conference

An important platform that brought together scholars, academics, scientists, and students from Mauritius and India to reflect on the interconnectedness of classical knowledge systems and contemporary disciplines, and on the ethical responsibilities that must guide scientific and technological progress.
I thank Dr. Abhijit Dixit, Convenor of the Conference, and Dr. Gyaneshwarsing Guddoye, Vice-President of Ayur Peetha Mauritius, for shaping a forum that meaningfully bridged scholarship, policy, and praxis.
I also welcome the proposed Bill by Dr. Guddoye on traditional and complementary medicine, aimed at strengthening a pluralistic, enabling, and responsible legislative framework for holistic health and well-being in Mauritius.
As President of the Republic, I remain committed to initiatives that embody this holistic vision of progress.
At State House, our Learn AI. School Innovation Challenge, the Ayurvedic Garden, and the endemic garden with medicinal plants celebrate this spirit.
Let us continue to remember the enduring words of Rabindranath Tagore: It is only where knowledge is free and the mind is led into ever-widening thought and action that true freedom can flourish.
