National Engineers’ Day 2025

Immensely pleased to have joined the Institution of Engineers, Mauritius (IEM) over the weekend as Patron of the Institution, to celebrate National Engineers’ Day 2025 and honour the remarkable contributions of our engineering community.
In the face of global and national challenges ranging from climate change to digital transformation, the role of engineers has become even more vital.
I commend the IEM for its continued pursuit of excellence, particularly in becoming a Provisional Member of the Washington Accord – a key milestone that positions Mauritius as a Regional Hub for World-Class Engineering Education.
I am also deeply honoured to have been admitted as an Honorary Fellow of this prestigious institution.
I also commend Mr. Viren Proag for his book “Eau 24/7”, which was launched on that occasion.
Together, we must support our professionals in engineering a sustainable, inclusive, and innovative nation for all.
