His Excellency Mr Dharambeer Gokhool, G.C.S.K., President of the Republic of Mauritius, today presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Mr Satya Veyash FAUGOO, G.O.S.K., who took the Oath of Office as Chairperson of the Independent Police Complaints Commission at the State House, Le Réduit.
Mr Faugoo was appointed, in accordance with the Independent Police Complaints Commission Act, to serve as Chairperson for a period of four years.
The ceremony marks the commencement of his mandate in leading the Commission, an institution entrusted with promoting accountability, transparency and public confidence in policing through the independent consideration of complaints against members of the police force.
The Office of the President extends its best wishes to Mr Faugoo in the discharge of his responsibilities in the service of the Republic.
