Taichi Chuan Federation & The Port-Louis Wushu, Sanda & Pencak Silat Club

What an inspiring afternoon it was. The performers brought with them not only their remarkable technical mastery, but also the deep cultural heritage, discipline and philosophy that these traditional martial arts represent. From the grace and precision of Taichi to the strength and dynamism of Wushu, Sanda and Pencak Silat, each demonstration reflected years of dedication, passion and community engagement.

Beyond the physical performance, what truly stood out was the energy, culture and community spirit that filled the grounds of the State House. It was a vivid reminder of the richness of our multicultural society and the power of sport and heritage to unite people across generations.

We extend our appreciation to the instructors, young athletes, and representatives who took the time to share their art with us. Their commitment to nurturing discipline, confidence and resilience among the youth is commendable and aligns with our national values of harmony, respect and personal development.

A memorable encounter that reinforces the importance of promoting cultural exchange, healthy lifestyles and community-led initiatives in Mauritius.
